I keep dreaming about painting. I dreamed extensively about it last night and was very excited about my dream ideas when I woke up, but immediately forgot them--wahn. The night before last, I dreamed I was painting a water scene. There was a twisting bay or inlet with five rowboats arranged in the foreground in a slightly haphazard but pleasing way. Each boat had a man in it fishing--some were standing and some sitting, The boats were all white, but each had a different colored stripe just under the bow. The trees in the background were bright with autumn colors. (But in the dream, the colors of the boat stripes didn't really color coordinate with the scenery--one stripe was a sort of industrial pink and another a sort of industrial grey-blue.)

Hi Mary, I also dreamed about painting - last night. I was not only painting a picture (and I was actually good at it) I was also restoring paintings. I looked it up on a few sites and am convinced that the painting dream represents our desires to express our inner self, our talents, and it is time to say or do something public with that dream of ours. Restoring it, making it pretty again, bringing it to the world to see. I imagine your painting was tranquil and lovely. It was autumn as you dreamed in October, and the fishing men or their pretty white boats were on a journey of fun and relaxation. I love the thought of the twisted bay, great choice of words. I don't know the actual picture that I painted and/or restored, but I took my time to do it right! It was brightly colored and full of energy. That's enough for me! Have a great week Mary!

I still remember that dream and would love to paint a picture of it.
In real life, however, I am not that good--that is, making what I can see in my mind come out on paper doesn't work so well.
But I still want to try to paint that scene!
